Clothing Lab
Konstruct Clothing uses state of the art technology to easily customise any apparel.

Below are details of the methods used, and things you should keep in mind whilst working out the design.

Screenprinting
Method: Screenprinting uses fine mesh-covered frames to transfer ink onto screenprinting.jpggarments. The mesh is coated in a photo-sensitive paste. A positive of the design is placed on the frame and it is then developed under bright lights. All parts of the mesh that are exposed harden and block the ink from going through. The part where the positive is placed does not harden and is water-blasted out to allow the ink through.

What you need to know: Screenprinting gives a great quality, long-lasting print. Most garments can be printed but you cannot print over zips or seams. The process can be quite costly for small runs or designs with many colours. We recommend a minimum of 12 garments are needed to make screenprinting worthwhile. Designs can be up to eight colours (up to 4 colours is recommended) and can be up to A3 (297 x 420mm) in size.

Set-up: It is quite a process to make a screen. Every colour for a design requires a seperate screen, hence there is a set-up cost of $25 (plus GST) per colour.

Pricing: Price is dependent on the quantity of garments being printed and number of colours used. If you are printing bright colours onto dark garments you may also need a white undercoat.

Embroidery embroidery.jpg
Method: Also known as monogramming, embroidery uses threads to recreate a design on a garment.

What you need to know:
Embroidery gives a great, professional look to any garment. Your design can be up to 22x22cm in size and contain up to 12 colours. Embroidery is also ideal for customising caps and bags.

Set-up: Before we can embroider, your design will need to be digitized. This is a process to tell the machine where to place each stitch. Konstruct Clothing provides a competitive in-house digitizing service.

Pricing: Price is determinant on the number of stitches in the design and the number of garments being embroidered. The bigger the design, the more stiches there will be. The cost of digitizing each design is a one-off fee of $40 plus GST. Once digitized, we will store your design for future use, saving you time and money.

Digital One-offs
Method: Konstruct Clothing has a special lab designed for one-offs. This process digitally dtg.jpgprints designs onto garments (almost like an inkjet printer but with specialised water-based inks).

What you need to know: This process is the easiest way to quickly get your design on a tee shirt. It is perfect for stag doos/hen's nights or any occassion in which you need a limited quantity of personalised tees. The clothinglab.jpgprocess uses CMYK inks, meaning you are not limited by colour - you can have as many colours and gradients in your design as you like. This method is also ideal for printing photos onto garments. To note: only light-coloured garments (white tees are the best) work well with this method. Designs can be up to 27x40cm. We can typically print your garment within 48 hours.

Set-up: The beauty of this method is that there is no set-up cost, providing we don't have to play around with the artwork too much. All designs can be printed including .jpg and .bmp files. The quality of the image is important however, so try not to use low-quality images.

Pricing: Pricing is determinant on the quantity of prints and what garment you choose. Prices range from $44.95 (inc GST) for a one-off full-colour print on the front and/or back (price includes the tee), down to $19.95 (inc GST) for larger runs. Fitted men's or women's tees are an extra $3.00 and additional locations are $5.00 extra.

Let us know the position of the design and the colour, quantity and size(s) of the garment. We'll get back to you to confirm details before we print, so don't forget to include your contact number. Providing everything's go, it'll be ready to pick up in 48 hours!

Name and Numbering
Method: Konstruct Clothing also runs an overnight name and numbering service. This method uses a vinyl transfer to easily put personalised names and/or numbers on the backs of garments. This method is perfect for sports teams, or if you want a one-colour name and/or number on a tee.

Set-up: There is no set-up cost.

Pricing: Prices range from $10 (plus GST) for a one-off name or digit, down to $6 (plus GST) per name or digit for larger runs. Some price fluctuation can occur due to size or position of the print but we'll discuss this with you.
